Our Full house is getting just alittle bigger!

We have moved in my 19 year old pregnant sister. Our family means the world us and my little has really had it rough I would say her entire life. She became addicted to pills at the age of 16 and really had no one to turn to help. My mother was an enabler for her and felt she needed them to deal with depression and anxiety. My husband and I knew where she was headed and offered many time to have her move in with us so we could help her but she would never come.

In April of this year she found out she was pregnant and knew she had to do something to fix herself so she could take care of her unborn baby. It was not easy for her and yes she did continue to use through her first trimester. She came to my husband and I asking for help and of course we were there. We moved her in and changed her doctor to closer to us. We are happy to say she is now 31 weeks and by the grace of God all is well with her unborn baby girl. She is 100 percent drug free and doing great. We are now preparing our home for a new baby girl due in December. Please keep her and the baby in your prayers.

Teenage Bullying

Well after taking a little while off. I really missed my blogging. So here I am with so much going on. We have pulled my 14 year old out of public school because of intense bullying. For so long he just walked away as other children hit him in the back of the head, trip him as he walked down the hall, called him names because of his tourettes. It was just getting out of control. He wasn't able to focus on his school work because he was so worried about what was going to happen when he left class that his grades were dropping. Of course we went to the principle and we were told it would be taken care of. Well nothing was done. Josh is now doing virtual school at home and making much progress. He started boxing at a local gym run by the police department and his self esteem is improving everyday. I'm really glad that we made this decision for Joshua. If you have any advice I would love to hear it.

I hope each and every one of you had a very blessed day! Today was a great day here in our home with our family. Just having everyone together and being able to sit back and watch the kids play together was such a beautiful sight. My husband hooked up the x box kinect and even my sister and I got in on the fun dancing with the kids. I am so thankful for all my children and to have such a wonderful husband and family. I truely am blessed.

FUN HALLOWEEN RECIPES

Halloween is among us and everyone likes a good party. Problem is it’s getting harder to throw fun events like this on a budget. Well don't worry, we are here to help. We will be providing you with some great cost cutting tips, and projects right up until Halloween day that will turn your party into something your guests won't soon forget. This page will be full of recipe ideas that are sure to turn your event into one ghoulishly good time. For special decorating ideas, Halloween Decorations and round up your little goblins.

Give me a hand (dip)

Your little monsters will love getting their hands on these crunchy carrot snacks.

Ingredients
• vegetable dip
• 4 long carrots
• 1 medium carrot
• cream cheese
• sliced-almond
• baby carrots

Instructions
1. To prepare them, just fill a serving bowl with your favorite vegetable dip. Wash and peel 4 long carrots for fingers and 1 medium carrot for a thumb.
2. With a paring knife (a parent's job), cut a flat, shallow notch in the tip of each carrot. Then use a dab of dip or softened cream cheese to glue a sliced-almond fingernail atop each notch.
3. Stick the fingers in the dip, as shown, and serve with plenty of peeled baby carrots for dipping.

Marshmallow Witch Treats

Try out this simple Halloween Recipe for Marshmallow Witch treats. Treat your little ghouls and goblins this sweet treat.

Ingredients

* 1/2 cup vanilla frosting, divided

* 36 miniature semisweet chocolate chips

* 12 large marshmallows

* 1 drop each green, red and yellow food coloring, optional

* 1/4 cup flaked coconut

* 12 chocolate wafers

* 12 miniature peanut butter cups

* 12 milk chocolate kisses

Instructions: For 1 Dozen

1.To create the face of each witch, place a dab of frosting on the bottom of three chocolate chips; press two for eyes and one for nose onto each marshmallow.

2.To make the hair, combine green food coloring and a drop of water in a small resealable plastic bag; add coconut and shake well. Spread a small amount of frosting on sides of marshmallows; press coconut hair into frosting. Place 3 tablespoons of frosting in a small heavy-duty resealable plastic bag; tint orange with red and yellow food coloring. Set aside.

3.For hats, spread some of the remaining frosting in the center of chocolate wafers; press peanut butter cups upside down into frosting. Lightly spread bottoms of chocolate kisses with frosting; place on peanut butter cups. Cut a small hole in the corner of pastry or plastic bag; insert a small star tip. Fill the bag with frosting and pipe stars around the base of each peanut butter cup.

Positioned outside the house, these ghostly jugs will set the tone for any visitors as they approach.

Materials Needed :

Clean plastic gallon milk jugs

Black permanent marker

Sharp knife

Small battery operated candles

Instructions:

1. Draw ghostly eyes and mouths on the jugs. (Leave the caps on while you do this, so the jugs don't dent)

2. Use the craft knife to cut a 3 inch hole in the back of each jug (a parent's job).

3. Insert a battery operated candle inside each jug to bring your creation to life.

Here are some great variants to this project that can be created with just a little imagination.

Battling Tourettes

Iv been so busy lately with the kids and school I had to find a few minutes for me. I really wanted to share with you the things that I have been going through with my 7th grader Josh.

Josh was diagnosed with Tourettes about 3 years ago. He blinks constantly. We took him to a neurologist who gave him meds to control his ADHD and then more meds to help with his tic, Well that was no help at all. The ADHD meds intensified his tics so bad that he would cry at night because his eyes hurt so bad. I just didn't know what to do. So I took him off of it all. I don't see the ADHD at all in him anymore but the blinking is still so bad especially when he gets nervous.

School for him has not been easy and making friends is really hard for him. Kids can be so cruel at times. Now we are making plans to take him to another neurologist about an hour away to see what they can do. I feel so helpless. As a mom we want to protect our children and teach them God made us all different and its okay to be different but I have to say this has been a long battle already and I pray that soon they will find something that will help him.

I was so excited to have the opportunity to review the Sodastream.

This past weekend we had all of the kids at home so it was the perfect time to try out our new Sodastream. We all loved it! I personally am a diet soda drinker so I just had to see how the diet cola would compare with my diet coke. It was great! Not to much of a difference at all.

The root beer was a big hit with the little ones and my older children love the energy drink.

Senior year

Well school for all my little ones has begun ans the procrastinating mommy that I am is still running around for school supplies and more uniforms and clothes for the middle schooler. I figure I should be done by the weekend (well that's my plan anyway)

My oldest daughter is a Senior this year and we are working on Senior pictures already. Where does the time go? I still remember that little 5 year old going into elementary school so excited with her little Disney princess backpack. Now it's talk about college and a job for the future. She wants to be a social worker to help children who are being abused physically and emotionally. This is something she has been passionate about for quite some time. I'm so proud of the beautiful young lady she has become.

I will say that being a mommy and watching your children grow up is a very rewarding experience however sometimes I feel so sad to see them growing up so fast and would like to push a button to just slow it down so I can see it in slow motion. Does that make sense?

Our Day At The Beach

This weekend we heard of a beach (not to far from us) where there have been manatee's making an appearance in the early morning. So we packed our coolers and lathered on the sunscreen and headed out to the beach. Unfortunately for us we didn't make it there early enough and didn't see any manatee's, but we still had such a great time. The older boys took the little one around looking for crabs and they all buried their little sister in the sand. She didn't seem to put up a fight until they got a little carried away and got alittle to close to her face.
After a few hours of playing in the sand, snorkeling, and looking for crabs It was time for mommy to fire up the grill and make our lunch (yes I'm the grilling mommy in our home) getting them out of the water was not an easy task for me but they finally figured if they didn't get out to eat the birds were going to have their lunch.
All I can say about this trip to the beach is that watching 5 of our children playing so nice together was just priceless. It's not something that happens everyday but Saturday was a day that will stay with me forever. I saw love, friendship, teaching, caring, and sharing out of our children and it was just beautiful.

In our house we talk to God all throughout the day. 100 prayers God loves to Hear was such a great book to teach my children prayers for everything their life. .There are prayers of blessing, thankfulness, praise, comfort, prayers from scripture, and even Inspirational Prayers from a few famous people. We all enjoyed the 100 Praise songs that go along with every prayer. The colors in this book are bright and kept my children's attention. I found it not only an easy read, but also a book that will keep you coming back for guidance in everyday life. I want to share a prayer that my 13 year old loves from this book. It's a prayer for trust in Jesus:

Mommy's nerves are shot!

This weekend my 10 year old son was doing his normal weekend activities swimming in the pool, riding his bike, and of course fishing. Fishing has become his newest hobby and he loves it. His friend came over and they decided they would go fishing in the canal behind our house. So they got their fishing poles and bait and out the door they went. This child of mine is all boy! He loves doing things outside and trying to get him back in is like pulling teeth. Well while they were on the dock they caught a few little bass and came running in to have me take a picture of them. After them being outside for about an hour I decided to go sit with them and see what was going on out there. I was watching this boy so patiently waiting for a bite when all of the sudden he seemed to have caught something. Up on his feet he stood reeling in what we thought was a pretty big fish for this small canal. As he reeled it in to all of our surprise it was a baby alligator. There they were yelling for my husband to come and get it like we were going to have a new little addition to our already full house. I yelled just let it go!!! I was afraid ,as they were so happy. Thank goodness my husband didn't get there in time and the little alligator got away (yes my hubby would have tried to keep it for a pet.) It was a little scary for me because now all I can think about is that if there is a baby in there shouldn't the mommy be near by. I'm not taking any chances. The canal is now off limits without an adult out there.

Rawsrvnt - Christian Hip-Hop

I thought I would introduce you all to my children's favorite Christian singer (well and mine) Rawsrvnt. A few months ago I was going through my sons ipod and could not believe some of the music he was listening to. I was appalled and felt like a terrible mom for not paying closer attention to what my children were putting on their ipods. Of course I decided to have a sit down with them and explain that this kind of music was not something they needed to be listening to. So we were going through some Cd's that we had and came across a CD we had gotten at a block party we had a few years ago at church.

Rawsrvnt. We popped it in and the boys started nodding their heads and got up to do the dance they learned to "Bows Up" while at church. Rawsrvnt was it! This man of God was a great Hip Hop artist and all the kids loved him. I have to admit his new album No Ordinary Love is great and if you get the chance I would check it out. His motto is "I worship Jesus just the way I am. Raw". Here is one of his newest songs from No Ordinary Love. It's a big hit in our home. Hope you enjoy it! :)

Operation Belle Glade

Operation Belle Glade was a huge success! All the 4th and 5th graders took a charter bus to a school in Belle Glade where they unloaded a huge truck full of school supplies for the children who needed them. They all sorted the supplies, wrote notes for the kids, and stuffed the bags. After such a great day all the kids are locked in at the church for a whole night full of fun. Here are some pictures my 10 year old took.

Giving Back

I'm so excited about this opportunity my 10 year old has that i just had to share it with you all. Our church is having a mission trip for children entering 4th and 5th grades and my son was more then happy to jump on this experience. The children are going to a low-economic area of Belle Glade (a city about 45 miles from where we live) with the purpose of helping others. They will be stuffing backpacks full of school supplies for the children who otherwise would not be able to afford them. I know this will be a great experience for Johnny because he is my boy who doesn't understand that some people don't have the things we do and sometimes we take what we have for granite. Some people in Belle Glade have no air conditioning. You drive by and see doors and windows open in these apartments and it feels like 100 degrees outside. This is a perfect chance for him to see and appreciate what he has and to give back. These children are going to be so happy to just have a new backpack and new supplies. All the children leave Wednesday morning on a bus so please keep them in your prayers and I will be sure to post some pictures of this great mission trip.

Girls Birthday trip to Busch Gardens

Well I guess you can imagine how stressful it can get when you have so many kids Birthdays so close together. So this year we decided we would take the girls to Busch Gardens. My step daughter was turning 9 and my oldest daughter was turning 17. We kept it a surprise until we got there. They were both so excited and since the two of them seem to bunt heads a lot it was so great to see them so happy together. We spent the entire day watching the animals (we could have watched the monkeys all day long) and riding roller coasters. Just seeing the two of them playing around a laughing together was worth it all. I can honestly say it was a great bonding experience for them both.

Teenage girls trying to grow up so fast

I came across this article and wish I would have found it about 2 years ago when my then 15 year old daughter started wanting push up bras and thongs. It was a never ending battle with her to just slow down. If any of you out there have a teen maybe this can help you. I sure know it would have my daughter and I. Let me know what you think.

Lately when you go shopping, your daughter has been begging for low-rise jeans, thongs. and push-up bras

Where she's coming from: The older the tween or teen girl, the more important dressing like her friends and "matching" them is, says Machoian. So if friends are going for the edgy fashions, your daughter will have trouble resisting. "From about fifth grade on, if you don't have the right clothes, you're scorned. And for kids in this age group, nothing is as important to psychological health as having friends."
There's a simpler factor at play, too. "When a girl's body is developing, it's like when you drive your first car," says Wiseman. "You want to see what it can do and how people react. You want to experiment."
What to do: "Have her show you pictures of clothes she likes," says Wiseman. "Then compromise on the items you can live with and veto the ones you can't."
If she's young enough that you're still shopping with her, and you think something she wants is too tight or too revealing, calmly say, "Let's try it in a bigger size and maybe we can buy it." Or "We'll keep looking until we find something similar we both like." If shopping trips are becoming a nightmare, consider a mom-swap -- you go with a friend's daughter, she goes with yours. (Obviously the other mom should share your standards.)
The most important thing you can do, though, is use your daughter's fashion experiments as opportunities for deeper discussions. "If your daughter's on her way out the door in an outfit you think is too tight or revealing," says Wiseman, "send her upstairs to change. Then say, 'These are my rules, but I realize you could find a way to break them. Just remember that I might find out. Not only will there be consequences for disobeying, but I will be horribly disappointed if you've betrayed the values of our family.'"
Also tell her to observe how sexy clothes make her feel and act. "Ask her to notice if her behavior matches what she's wearing," says Wiseman. Talk with her about it later, staying calm even if she says she likes how it makes her feel. Being open to hearing about her experience boosts your credibility. And helping her think things through may reinforce what you want her to learn.

Another typical Saturday

Working Monday through Friday 8-5 doesn't leave me to much time to clean so most of my Saturday morning consists of washing floors,having kids clean the rooms and doing mounds of laundry (seems like I'm always washing clothes in this house) So with the older children out with their friends I have 5 little ones arguing over who going to watch what and who wants to play what game. Why can't they all just get along? lol. Anyway its time for mommy to start dinner and hopefully get to relax a bit. After dinner its movie time. The best time of the night for mommy...... Finally some peace in this crazy house!!!

Rainy Forth of July

The Forth of July was a rainy one here in West Palm Beach Florida. Our family made the most out of it and continued with our bbq. My oldest daughter Steffany made a very yummy flag cake. All of us gathered in the living room with the xbox and played Rock band and sang kareoke. Then it was off to the park all of us hovered under a big blue tarp to watch the fire works. It was a great Forth. :)

I met my husband when I was 8 years old. I had the biggest school girl crush on him. Our parents were close friends so we hung out alot. Went to church together and had bbqs. We grew up together. We started dating when I was about 13. You couldnt keep us apart. We rode our bikes everywhere together. Out to eat, movies, arcades it was great. We stayed together until I was about 15 then we broke up. We both went our own ways married other people and had our own children. About 6 years ago by the grace of God we were reunited and in 2007 we were married. Together we have 8 beautiful children. 5 boys and 3 girls. Now our family is complete! Let the adventures begin...........
